Are you bored? Or maybe you just want to learn something new to add to your CV? Or could it be that you just like this guy, who has a passion for computers, and you would like to be able to engage an interesting conversation with him? This last option was what drove me to learn something about Microsoft Office pack, and particularly about Excel. The 2007 version in my case.
No matter the reason I believe it's always good to learn something new. And if that something can help you in your professional life, I think is even better than good, it's great. And although my motivation was a bit romantic to start with, I can now say that I've developed a genuine passion for this kind of things. I'm writing this thinking that maybe some of you would like to know a bit more about Excel too.
In my quest of learning I of course, discovered the official site of Microsoft Office Support, Office: help and how-to . I must say that I consider this the best source to turn to if you want to know about Office (Access, Excel, Outlook) but have no previous knowledge about it. It has great tutorials for beginners, some with video support, it leads you step by step, has great guided practice sessions (for which Office pack has to be already installed on your computer, of course) and at the and of every lesson you'll find a summary which you can bookmark for future references.
I advise all amateurs to give this a shot. You will feel great about yourself when, after the few first lessons, you realize that not only you are able to understand them but, even more, you will be able to anticipate some of the issues. It's a great stimulus for one's self confidence.
This is the link for Excel 2007 Support (you can also find support for 2003 and 2010 versions).
